This case study examines how the media reports news stories related to science. It is based on an actual news story which reported research on the effects of eating fish from Lake Ontario, which may be contaminated with PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). The lesson is best for undergraduate science courses. The case study and teaching notes may be downloaded in PDF format.
