Url: https://www.amnh.org/learn-teach/curriculum-collections/antarctica/typ...
Publisher: American Museum of Natural History
Description: This site contains information about remote sensing, which not long ago was limited to the classified community. It is now a popular tool for researchers in a variety of fields. The site will teach students about the use of remote sensing to monitor glaciers in Antarctica. It includes an in-depth profile of a geologist taking a look at how satellites are used to study glaciers in Antarctica. In the question and answer format profile, which appears as a Web article and a printable version, Jane Ferrigno answers more than 10 questions, including what is so important about her field of study in Antarctica. She also comments on changes in the field of remote sensing and how hard it is to put Antarctica on a flat map. In addition, she explains how she and her team created the new United States Geological Survey satellite map.
