Description: The Institute of Gerontology at Wayne State University provides educators and practitioners with resources and materials related to aging and health. In the resources section of the site, users will find an assortment of documents and materials including the Institute's very well put together on-line training modules and helping handbooks. The training modules are free but must be ordered from the training institute and will be sent via email. They consist of Powerpoint slide presentations and Word documents. The End-of-Life Care training module series, for example, has six modules available: Historical Perspectives of Dying and Death in America, Ethical and Legal Concerns, Pain Management, Communication Skills at End-of-Life, Imminent Death, and Grief, Loss and Bereavement. The helping handbooks are available as PDFs and are provided to help both health care professionals and for families or individuals who have a relative in long-term care.
