Description:
This course, presented by MIT and taught by Professor Alar Toomre, provides an introduction to numerical analysis. The material looks at the basic techniques for the efficient numerical solution of problems in science and engineering. Topics include root finding, interpolation, approximation of functions, integration, differential equations and direct and iterative methods in liner algebra. Lecture notes are included on the site. MIT presents OpenCourseWare as free educational material online. No registration or enrollment is required to use the materials.
