The ISTP Science initiative has five primary objectives. For example, the initiative seeks to "determine structure and dynamics in the solar interior and their role in driving solar activity." Sections included at the Website are What is the Sun-Earth Connection, Mission Connection, and What's New. Furthermore, the What is the Sun-Earth Connection section is subdivided into sections such as What is Geospace (the space in between the Earth and the Sun), Studying the Invisible Realm, and Hot Pics and Cool Movies. Spectacular colorful images of Northern and Southern Lights from Earth and Space, Sun Spotting, Images of Earth from Space, Space Weather, and movies showing comets flying into the sun, solar eclipses, and solar tornadoes are presented in the Hot Pics and Cool Movies section.
